About Us

Welcome to vast archipelagos, mysterious, winding fjords, stands of old-growth forest and sheltered bays on isolated islands. This is Vancouver Island, where hundreds of species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians call our waters home or stop here on their annual migration.

Vancouver Island is also home to Midnight Sun Adventure Travel. Based in Victoria since 1995, we are a registered inbound tour operator, licensed by the British Columbia Consumer Protection Authority (#3042-4). We abide by the rules and regulations regarding travel services in B.C. including administration of a trust account for all funds advanced to us by our customers.

Our services embrace overland adventure tours of western Canada and kayak tours of Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlotte Islands. The company is owned, staffed and run by guides and former guides. They'll help you decide which tour is right for you, organize your pre-departure information, advise you how to get to the location and where to stay.

Midnight Sun's extensive local knowledge of the kayak industry has enabled us to organize our 'family' of top kayak operators. Our operators share the following attributes:

  • Members of the Sea Kayak Guide Alliance of BC
  • Possession of current permits, tenures and licenses in place for all land and water resources utilized
  • Third party liability insurance policy in place
  • Locally owned and operated in the Province of BC
  • Top quality gear and kayaks

Regardless of your experience, we invite you to join one of many sea kayak tours in the pristine and diverse waters that surround Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlotte Islands. Whether you prefer an isolated, expedition-style experience, or a tour closer to civilization, we have the tour for you!

Plan Now for Summer

Wednesday, October 19 2011

While there is a bit of a stretch of winter creeping up, in not so many months summer will again reign supreme on Vancouver Island.  On the "Island", peak kayak season is from mid-July to the first week in August. This means almost all of our regular departures have filled up (we limit our groups to 8) and people who have waited a little longer to book are anxiously waiting for our word on cancellations. Sometimes we can deliver, sometimes we can’t.

Please don’t let this be you! Whether you’re booking for yourself or for a group, please book early for the summer of 2012.  While we take a 20% deposit, we don’t take the balance of your payment until 60 days out. Thus you can relax, knowing your kayak seat is safe and a great vacation is not far off.
