Itinerary

Day
17:30 a.m. Arrive at the Port Alberni Harbour Quay and meet the Kayak Guide Team. Launch at 8:00 am by heritage vessel 11:30 a.m. Arrive at our launch site in Barkley Sound. Afternoon paddle to the Group to set up camp, dinner and overnight.

2Paddle the shores of Dodd, Willis and Turtle Islands – sandy beaches, open coast, bull kelp, protected inside waters, crashing surf, superb intertidal sea life – a little of everything.

3Paddle the protected waters of Jacques and Jarvis Islands. Fascinating lagoon brimming with sea cucumbers, star fish, moon snails. We’ll sight bald eagles, ancient native fish traps and travel the infamous ‘cut’ with barely enough room for our kayaks to pass.

5Paddle to Gibraltar Island and return to the Lodge for 3:30 p.m. departure for our ship to Port Alberni. Snack on Board (No-host cafeteria style meal may be available on board) Return to Port Alberni 7:30 p.m.
