We'll experience the natural beauty of Vancouver Island by paddling the shorelines of its west coast as well as the Broken Group Islands in Pacific Rim National Park. This holiday adventure will expand your knowledge of west coast natural history as well as improve your paddling abilities. Itinerary

  • Day
    1

    7:30 a.m. Arrive at the Port Alberni Harbour Quay and meet the Kayak Guide Team. Launch at 8:00 am by heritage vessel 11:30 a.m. Arrive at our launch site in Barkley Sound. Afternoon paddle to the Group to set up camp, dinner and overnight.

    2

    Paddle the shores of Dodd, Willis and Turtle Islands – sandy beaches, open coast, bull kelp, protected inside waters, crashing surf, superb intertidal sea life – a little of everything.

    3

    Paddle the protected waters of Jacques and Jarvis Islands. Fascinating lagoon brimming with sea cucumbers, star fish, moon snails. We’ll sight bald eagles, ancient native fish traps and travel the infamous ‘cut’ with barely enough room for our kayaks to pass.

    Paddle to Gibraltar Island and return to the Lodge for 3:30 p.m. departure for our ship to Port Alberni. Snack on Board (No-host cafeteria style meal may be available on board) Return to Port Alberni 7:30 p.m.
