The 3 Day kayaking Odyssey is an inspirational adventure in the wild and a truly memorable way to spend quality time with your friends and family while you explore the coastline, see wildlife and experience the delights of sea kayaking.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore the wild and beautiful coastline of Barkley Sound, while paddling amongst small islands and islets, enjoying a picnic lunch on secluded coves. If you’re lucky you’ll find yourself paddling with Harbour seals and eagles soaring right above your head. These unforgettable experiences await you!

On this fully catered trip kayak trip you will water taxi right into the Broken Group Island maximizing your time there. All your meals, snacks, desserts and hot drinks are provided. The menu can be adjusted for all food allergies and preferences. Our trips include all of your kayaking and camping equipment including a Mutha Hubba tent, Exped sleeping mat (for adults only), and a Helinox cot and beach chair. You only need to bring your personal items and a sleeping bag! If you’re not traveling with a sleeping bag, we can provide you with a clean and comfortable sleeping bag for a small additional fee.

    1

    The trip starts off with a half hour boat ride with your guide, your kayak, and all the equipment you need to be self-sufficient. When you arrive at your sheltered beach together we will get your kayaks and gear set up. Lessons will be given and any safety concerns and procedures will be explained.

    Before long you will be on our way. Kayaking through a vast maze of islands & islets. We will enjoy a full day of kayaking before we reach one of the seven campsites with in the Broken Group Islands.

    2

    We further explore the protected waters of the Broken Group Islands and let them reveal hidden ancient middens, fish traps and canoe runs. You will also have plenty of time to lose yourself in the rich and colourful intertidal life as well as the opportunity to see wildlife such as eagles, whales, shore birds, sea lions, seals, mink, river otter, and sea otters.

    On our last day we will enjoy a morning paddle before being picked up by our water taxi and whisked back to Ucluelet just in time to have a late lunch and exchange emails so we can share photos and stay in touch.
