Off and Paddling!

Last week heralded the beginning of our busy booking season. 30% our our seats for Vancouver Island are sold and a number of departures are sold out as well, mainly in the last two weeks in July.

For those of you considering Johnstone Strait as a kayak destination, we are expecting the resident orcas as usual by the first week in July. Still, there's lots to see before then including transient orcas, humpback and minke whales, Pacific White-sided dolphins and Da/l's porpoise. The Broken Island Group is a great place to be right now as the waters are almost devoid of kayakers and the shallow waters are warming nicely. Out on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island, our base camp at Kyuquot base is set up on the beach, the sea otters are bobbing about - nature is calling!
