Insurance

We strongly recommend you take out air and trip cancellation and health insurance from your travel agent or book with Travel Guard. And please be sure your personal insurance is adequate to cover unforeseen expenses that may arise in remote locations.

Cancellation Policy

Once we take your reservation we undertake a number of arrangements and costs to prepare for your trip. Upon receiving written notice of the cancellation, the following schedule will apply:

  • 61 days or more prior to tour departure: full refund, less a $50 processing fee.

  • 60 - 0 days prior to departure: no refund will be given.

If you must cancel, we will be as understanding as possible and will make every effort to be flexible.

Please consider seeing your travel agent and taking out trip cancellation insurance. It can be worth it!

Cancelled Trips

Midnight Sun Travel reserves the right to cancel any kayak trip prior to tour departure. Reasons may include, but are not limited to, unforeseen circumstances associated with operating in wilderness and remote areas, or insufficient bookings. A trip cancellation due to insufficient bookings would normally occur at least one month prior to tour departure. If we are forced to cancel your booked tour, Midnight Sun will endeavor to offer an alternative tour. Midnight Sun Adventure Travel is not responsible for any additional costs that may arise in the event a tour is altered or delayed. We recommend the services of Travel Guard Canada.

Medical Forms & Liability Release

Customers will be required to complete a medical form and liability release form that we will send to you as part of your pre-departure package.

Plan Now for Summer

Wednesday, October 19 2011

While there is a bit of a stretch of winter creeping up, in not so many months summer will again reign supreme on Vancouver Island.  On the "Island", peak kayak season is from mid-July to the first week in August. This means almost all of our regular departures have filled up (we limit our groups to 8) and people who have waited a little longer to book are anxiously waiting for our word on cancellations. Sometimes we can deliver, sometimes we can’t.

Please don’t let this be you! Whether you’re booking for yourself or for a group, please book early for the summer of 2012.  While we take a 20% deposit, we don’t take the balance of your payment until 60 days out. Thus you can relax, knowing your kayak seat is safe and a great vacation is not far off.
