You will receive a Paddle Canada Sea Kayaking Level 1 certificate upon successful completion.Held over a 2-day period and is open to individuals 12 years of age and over. Topics covered: capsize and recovery training, paddle strokes, tour preparation, basic navigation and weather, gear and safety instruction, touring, assisted rescues. Capsize training takes place at Transfer Beach. |

1Your instructors are Paddle Canada certified!
We are pleased to offer professional instruction and quality equipment for our classes. The 12-hour course offered in April and May will take place at Eco-Adventure Centre, Transfer Beach Ladysmith and the Frank Jameson Community Centre Pool. Upon completion of the course, participants receive a Paddle Canada Sea Kayaking Level 1 Skills certificate.
9:30-11:30 a.m. Meet at Transfer Beach Park's Eco-Adventure Centre, Ladysmith
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 pm Pool Session - Frank Jameson Community Centre
You will practice:
-dock entry
-wet exits without sprayskirts
-wet exits with sprayskirts
-self rescue without paddle float
-self rescue with paddle float
-assisted rescues
